The FBI, with the assistance of Miami police, raided a waterfront mansion near Miami Shores, spooking neighbors. Residents reported hearing loud noises and seeing a large police presence, which was unusual for the neighborhood. The mansion, believed to be a short-term rental property, was often associated with parties. Two individuals, including 20-year-old Malone Lamb, were arrested in Los Angeles for allegedly stealing and laundering over $230 million in cryptocurrency, equivalent to 4100 Bitcoin, from a victim in Washington DC. Lamb, a citizen of Singapore, used online aliases such as ‘Anne Hathaway’ and ‘$3 Signs’ to carry out the thefts and money laundering schemes. The suspects allegedly accessed victims’ crypto accounts fraudulently and transferred the funds to themselves through exchanges and mixing services, concealing their identities using virtual private networks and wallets. The stolen money was reportedly spent on international travel, nightclubs, luxury automobiles, watches, jewelry, designer handbags, and rental homes in LA and Miami.
